About

Since 2020, Argento Acres is a women-owned, sustainably run farm.

The Farm

Argento means “silver” in Italian. Argento Acres gets its name from the saying “every cloud has a silver lining” because I am always looking for opportunity in every situation.

Founded in 2020, Argento Acres is a women-owned, sustainably run farm in Coloma, MI. For the first few years, it was located on 14.5 acres in Covert, MI with 4 acres of blueberries, a hoop house, and a market garden with fresh produce including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, garlic, onions, ginger, turmeric, herbs, and greens.

In 2023, the opportunity arose to move to a smaller 8-acre location that is more suited to sustainable and organic growing as well as more practical to run as a solo farmer. I still lease half an acre of blueberries from my brother in Covert while new plantings on my property get established. I grow vegetables in my hoophouse and market garden, I’m raising poultry for meat and eggs, and I raise honeybees. My market is now “hyperlocal” in that all of my sales occur within half an hour drive of the farm. I am working to serve my local community.

The Crew

Argento Acres has always been a family farm. I bought the original farm from family and it is run primarily with help from family and friends.

However, I do hire seasonal help on the farm and at farmers’ markets. If you are passionate about sustainable agriculture and healthy, delicious food, you would enjoy working here! If would like to find out more about working at Argento Acres, email info@argentoacres.com.
